BJ, JC in Top 10 of State's Best High Schools Ranking

Bob Jones and James Clemens  high schools continue to rank in the top 10 of Alabama high schools, according to an independent national study.

The latest U.S. News & World Reports high school rankings list BJHS as #6 and JCHS #10 among 361 ranked high schools in Alabama. Madison City is the only district out of 138 statewide to have all of its high schools in the top 10. The study last year listed JCHS 7th and BJHS 8th.

Rankings of all public Alabama high schools can be found here.

The U.S. News and World Reports analysis looked at college readiness, AP (Advanced Placement) participation and scores, math/reading proficiency, graduation rates and other indicators to rank the schools.
BJ's 678th place nationally out of 17,857 public high schools and JC's 978th place put both in the top 5 percent of America's best high schools.

The report is the latest among a variety of studies looking at school excellence, with nearly all listing the district and individual schools among the best. See how individual MCS schools fared in a recent NICHE study.
