Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Antonia Kouknakou
Hello! And Welcome to the Madison City Schools’ Pre-K program! My name is Antonia Kouknakou (simply known as Mrs. K by everyone) and I am very excited to be teaching First Class Pre-K this year. I grew up in Montreal, Canada and then relocated to Europe with my family where, years later, I met and married my husband Chris who works for SAIC as a software engineer and developer. We have a son, Telly, who is pursuing a degree in computer sciences at UAH. We have been living in Madison for the several years and proudly call it our home. I enjoy reading, cooking, being crafty, and spending quality time with family and friends. I hold an Associate of Science in Child Development from Calhoun Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Athens State University. I am ARI (Alabama Reading Initiative) and AMSTI (Alabama Math Science and Technology Initiative) certified. I have worked as an English Language tutor, a Lead PreK teacher at a private school and I have been with Madison City Schools since 2015.
