September behavior calendars are in folders.
Please look in your child's folder for two important papers: Kindergarten Beginning of the Year Assessments and the DIBELS Parent Report. The DIBELS Parent Report tells you how your child did on each subtest. It will either say Met Goal, Below Goal or Well Below Goal. The other report suggests activities to do with your child to help build these skills, as well as reports other data to you.
Additionally, there is a Madison City Schools Gifted Education flyer coming home with all Kindergarten students today.
Just a heads-up and little reminder regarding sickness- We have already had a few students out sick this year. Reminder when your child is absent a written note with parent signature is required to be turned in within three days of your child returning to school. I appreciate receiving the email regarding your child’s absence, however, this does not count as an absent note. Students should be fever free without the use of medication for 24 hours and vomit and diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school. As much as we love everyone being at school, we do not want to spread germs. I have been disinfecting the room daily, we want to do all we can to prevent illness. Thank you for helping to keep our classroom as healthy as possible! :)
Friday September 6th will be Wild West dress up day. Please ensure your child can use the restroom independently in anything worn to school.
Grandparents are invited to lunch on September 5th or 6th for Grandparents Day. Our lunch is from 10:20-10:50. They will meet us in the cafeteria. Please suggest that they arrive a few minutes early so they can sign in and be in the cafeteria by 10:20.
PTA is offering pizza buffet before th PTA meeting on September 9th. If you would like to purchase, please send payment(labeled in envelope or Ziploc) and form in your child's folder by Friday. Thank you!
