What if I do not have an instrument yet?

Beginners: If you came to an instrument petting zoo in February or March, you should have received some paperwork about how to acquire an instrument. If you did not come to our instrument petting zoo, then Mrs. Rakoff and I will help you pick your instrument assignment in the first week of class. After you have selected what instrument to play, we will give you paperwork to take home that explains where and how to purchase your instrument.

School-owned Instruments: If you are one of the students that uses a school-owned instrument (Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Baritone/Euphonium, and Tuba players) you also do NOT need to bring your instrument on the first day of school. We will go over procedures for your instruments once you return, and get those assigned to you.

Note: If you play Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, or Percussion, and you are unable to provide your own instrument due to finances, please let Mrs. Rakoff or Mrs. Sims know as soon as possible by emailing us using the emails provided on our LMS Website. We have a few resources we can reach out to in these instances. We NEVER want finances to be the reason a student can’t participate in band!
