Civics Test Information for Seniors

The Alabama State Department of Education clarified the Alabama High School Graduation Requirements (Alabama Administrative Code 290-3-1-02(8)) to include a Civics assessment as a required component for graduation. Students will be asked to successfully complete a locally-developed Civics test during the student's senior year.  The test will be comprised of civics, geography, government, and US History. This assessment is explained in Alabama SB32.

Our students will have an opportunity to review this material and to complete the assessment. The completion of the assessment, not a score, will be documented on students' transcripts, per state requirements. Students will be allowed multiple attempts to complete 60% of the assessment correctly, which is the desired score, set by the state.

Our first administration of the test will be given on December 11, 2019 during Patriot Path.  Please find the study guide attached, and links below for other resources to help prepare for the test. This information has also been emailed to senior students, and is on the Patriot Dashboard.
