S2S Teams at RES. LMS, HRTG and JCHS Win Top Honors

Student-2-Student groups from several Madison City Schools were recognized at tonight's Board of Education for winning top honors at national S2S competitions.
Liberty Middle, James Clemens HS, and Heritage Elementary received the coveted Pete Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award. Rainbow Elementary's S2S program received the 2025 MCEC S2S Elite Team of the Year.
S2S groups are part of the national Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) which advocates for military students and families. While S2S chapters are rooted in helping military students, the program helps civilian students as well transition to new schools.
Having active S2S organizations at each campus creates a more positive school environment by orienting new students to their school and community.
MCS was one of the first school systems in the state to receive Purple Star designation by the state for having S2S chapters in every school and meeting state criteria for service.
S2S advisors at tonight's board meeting include: Lauren Hillis at Rainbow Elementary, Amber Moore at Heritage Elementary, Anne Mingus at Liberty Middle, and Kimberly Stoecker Maj. Rezell Linen at JCHS.
