Optimist Club Student Essay Winners 2023 Recognized
The Madison City Board of Education recognized student winners of the Madison Optimist Club Essay Contest
The presentations were at the April 6 BOE meeting.
More than 80 essays were submitted in the essay contest. Students were tasked to write a piece on an everyday hero and how they bring out the optimism in the student.
The 1st-3rd place winners were awarded $300, $200, and $100 respectively, with the teacher of the top winner also being awarded $100.
Winners were: Darci Kilpatrick (1st); Kylie Ciszczon (2nd) ; and Renee Drayton (3rd). Brandy Panagos at BJHS was the teacher recipient of $100 for being Darci Kilpatrick's teacher.
