Holtcamp Ends Decade On BOE

 

Longtime Madison City Schools Board President Tim Holtcamp was honored May 22 for his decade of leadership on the school board.

That was his last regular board meeting after serving on the board since 2015 and leading as BOE president the past five years.

Holtcamp passes gavel to Mr. Cummings

Following adjournment, Holtcamp did an unofficial handoff of the gavel to BOE Vice President Mr. Travis Cummings with Supt Dr. Ed Nichols and fellow board members looking on.

Mr. Holtcamp's wife, Misty, was presented a bouquet of flowers and given thanks for family sacrifices for Tim's time spent away on school business.

Madison City Board of Education members serve five year terms, all without compensation.

Holtcamp saw MCS through two superintendent searches, the opening of three schools and multiple expansions, enrollment growth from under 10,000 to over 13,000 today, stellar academic rankings, major facility upgrades, impressive increases in NBCTs and recertifications, Special Ed program expansions and improvements, top school district rankings, and much more.
