Welcome to the Liberty Middle School Scholars Bowl page! We are excited about entering the fall season and working our way toward the spring with the goal of capturing the district and state championships to grab a trip to the nationals in Chicago. There is a long way to go to reach this goal, but the talent is in our hallways. It's all about putting the right group(s) together to make it happen. Scholars Bowl is a fun game of answering questions in a quick, but witty fashion and receiving more points than your opponent. It's fun & challenging! If you're interested in joining, come see me in Room 213, and I can talk to you about the class and the competition team.
Congratulations to our varsity team for being selected to represent our state at the Alabama Public Television Scholars Bowl in Montgomery on Jan. 13. I will announce the air date of our match when I'm made aware of it. Team members were Max Causey, Amaan Musani, Wyatt Pieratt, Shaurya Singh, and Avani Narayan. We finished fourth in our recent district tournament at Liberty with our final match on Feb. 11 at Wallace State Community College. Team members worked extremely hard with so many practices under their belt and brought home a pair of third-place finishes in the regular season against some extremely tough teams.
Congratulations to our sixth graders on making it to the state tournament on Jan. 27 at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville!
Representing the Lions in 2023 are: Oliver Baker (captain); Eiliyah Hafiez; Levi Jordan; Prachi Khadka; William Kimberl; and Colin Krefting.
It truly is an honor to coach these young men and women, and I always want to give a shout out to their parents for their constant love and support along the way!
