Welcome to STEM!!!

My name is Kawanna Gardner.  I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to the Huntsville area four years ago.  I have been teaching for 20 years and have taught various grade levels from PreK to fifth grade.  I’ve taught fourth grade for the last four years since becoming a part of Madison City Schools.  Currently, I am the PreK STEM teacher for Madison CIty Schools.  I am also a co-teacher for some STEM classes at Midtown. 

I have been married to my husband (Kornelius) for 21 years and we have three children (KJ, Kaleb and Kristyn), who attend Madison City Schools. When I’m not at school, I enjoy traveling, cooking, playing games with my family and spending lots of time with my family. 

I enjoy having fun while teaching and learning. I am looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year as I will get to serve so many students.
