My name is Casey Walker, and I teach Pre-AP English 9 and Yearbook (Student Publications). My goal as a teacher is to create students who are passionate about sharing their ideas, investigating their interests, and tapping into their creativity. 

Prior to becoming a teacher, I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UAH where I taught College Writing I and II while earning my MA in English. I use this experience to give my high school students insight into the expectations of research and writing at the college level. Before graduate school, I worked in journalism and marketing in Birmingham, Alabama. 

When I’m not at school, I like to travel with my husband our fluffy dog, Bowie. 

School Work: 

Students will find their materials and assignments on Schoology. Physical copies (when needed) can be obtained in class. 

All grades will be communicated through PowerSchool.
