Hi everyone and welcome to 8th grade ELA, Digital Publishing, and Intro. to Public Speaking! This is my second year at Liberty Middle, and I am so excited about being a Lion! I am delighted to be your teacher this year and share with you all my love of literature and writing! I have always believed reading allows us to open our minds to new perspectives and understandings and improves students' critical thinking skills. My goal in my classroom is to encourage students to speak their minds courageously and respectfully and write in various forms of expression. 

I grew up and went to school in south Huntsville, but recently moved to Madison to be closer to work and my fiance! My name will be changing to Butler this semester! I have two children, Ryleigh (8) and Ethan (11)! Together, we love going to the beach, playing baseball, and softball, and cooking together. I have a great love for iced coffee, music, blankets, and sports! I also have a black lab, Lilly, that goes almost everywhere with us!

I graduated from Athens State University and went on to teach English in high school and middle school, but found my *home* in middle school! I am looking forward to grow in my teaching career here at Liberty! Go Lions! (Roll Tide and Go Braves as well!)
