Mr. Justin L. Keaton

Hello, my name is Mr. Keaton, and I am one of the self-contained special education teachers located in E-Pod. I first began my educational career in 2020, as a paraprofessional with Decatur City Schools at Austin Middle School serving self-contained students in sixth- and seventh grade. Next, in 2021, I was offered a teaching position with Birmingham City Schools at Wylam Elementary School serving self-contained students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Lastly, in 2022, I was offered a teaching position with Madison City Schools at James Clemens High School serving students in grades ninth- through twelfth grade. As young as I can remember, I have always wanted to become a school teacher in order to educate future generations. I strongly believe that teaching, specifically teaching special education, is not any ordinary job or career, but a calling.

I was born and raised in Fairview, Alabama, which resides in Cullman County. Growing up, I participated in various clubs, sports, and activities, such as football, track and field, basketball, baseball, soccer, t-ball, pep squad, Key Club, Explorer's Club, Fellow Christian Athletes, Youth for Christ, and Aggies for Advanced Reading. I have also gone on many mission trips across the United States; I have been to Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Alaska, Kentucky, Tennessee, and, of course, done mission work in my home state of Alabama. I recently just moved from Cullman to Huntsville.

In addition to my teaching duties, I serve as an advisor for the nonprofit organization Best Buddies, and if that is something you are interested in--feel free, to message me!

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions and/or concerns.
