Ms. Young attended Athens State and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-6.
She attended University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) and earned a Masters in Elementary Education K-6 and a Masters in Collaborative Special Education 6-12
Ms. Young began her teaching career in Cullman County. She taught at Hanceville Middle School for 13 years. She transferred to Fairview High School and worked for 4 years. All in Special Education. She comes to Madison City Schools with 17 years experience. She became a member of the Discovery Middle School faculty in January 2022.
Ms. Young is a native of Cullman, Alabama. She has 3 sisters living there. She has 2 children, 2 bonus children (all adults) and 9 grandchildren (ranging from 19 - 4 years of age). She moved to Madison in November 2021. She is engaged to Jeff Stockton who lives here in Madison. So her bonus children and grandchildren will increase in the near future by 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.
She loves Auburn Tigers, ceramic and wooden Christmas trees (there are about 30 in her classroom), spending time with family and her church family. She is a member of First Church of God Madison on Capshaw Road. She enjoys baking, taking road trips, and talking to her friends. Her newest hobby is learning about bicycles because Jeff likes to buy, repair, and sell bicycles.
