Mrs. Karen Young-Stockton

Education:
Mrs. Young-Stockton attended Athens State and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-6.
She attended University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) and earned a Masters in Elementary Education K-6 and a Masters in Collaborative Special Education 6-12
 
Experience:
Mrs. Young-Stockton began her teaching career in Cullman County.  She taught at Hanceville Middle School for 13 years.  She transferred to Fairview High School and worked for 4 years.  All in Special Education.  She comes to Madison City Schools with 17 years experience.  She became a member of the Discovery Middle School faculty in January 2022.
 
Biography:
Mrs. Young-Stockton is a native of Cullman, Alabama.  She has three sisters living there.  She just recently married Jeff Stockton (October 1, 2022).  She has 2 children and 2 bonus children and 9 grandchildren.  Since her marriage, she has increased her blessings to include 3 more bonus sons and 4 more grandchildren.  So the Stockton’s have 6 sons and 1 daughter (4 of the best daughters-in-law), and 13 grandchildren (ranging in ages from 19 – 4 years of age). We have 7 granddaughters and 6 grandsons.
 
She loves Auburn Tigers, ceramic and wooden Christmas trees (there are about 30 in her classroom), spending time with family and her church family.  She is a member of First Church of God Madison on Capshaw Road.  She enjoys baking, taking road trips, and talking to her friends.  Her newest hobby is learning about bicycles because Jeff likes to buy, repair, and sell bicycles.
