Mr. David Clifton
I am what you would call a "Jack of all trades" or a "Man wearing many hats." I teach Career Prep, Scholars Bowl I & II, Greenpower, and Environmental Science. I truly enjoy getting to teach a wide variety of students with varying interests, as I get to combine my passions for reading, writing, the outdoors, and academic/outdoor competition. I am also honored to be your Liberty Scholars Bowl coach and Greenpower coach.
I was taught at a young age to enjoy the world around us and feel blessed to have our outdoor classroom to help students learn about our beautiful environment. We are truly doing great things with our outdoor classroom while seeing beautiful wildlife, plants, and growing our own vegetables.
I was born and raised in Alabama but spent several years in Texas as a sports reporter and journalist. I was even named Sports Writer of the Year, but my biggest prize was meeting my wonderful, fantastic wife, Rachel. She is a fifth-grade teacher, and we have a precious 5-year-old daughter and a loyal 14-year-old chihuahua named Bowie. We will also be blessed with our second child in 2022, so a busy year will be getting even busier.
Outside of spending time with my wife and daughter, I enjoy everything about baseball. I've played and coached the sport and am currently a middle and high school umpire. Go Braves! I also attend Alabama football games (Roll Tide!) and Rocket City Trash Panda games on a regular basis. My mother is a retired teacher and was one of the biggest reasons I got into the profession. I love each day I get to spend at Liberty Middle. Roar Lions!
