Welcome to Columbia Elementary School! I'm Misty Farmer. I love being a Columbia Astro and serving Columbia as a gifted specialist!  Originally from Wyoming, I graduated from Black Hills State University after earning my BS in elementary education in 1997.  I  moved to California where I worked in elementary education for 18 years and earned professional certificates for teaching English as a second language and gifted and talented education, as well as a MA in educational leadership. California is where I met my handsome husband and we now have two amazing children. We moved our family to Madison in 2016 and enrolled our children in this wonderful district!  I began working as a gifted specialist for Madison City Schools 2017.  In addition to teaching students, I also work to identify gifted students and provide collaborative and consultative services to classroom teachers. I am so excited to work with our amazing Columbia students every day! Go Astros!!!
