My name is Payne Fritz and I teach Government and Economics. I am also an assistant baseball and football coach here at James Clemens. I am originally from Hazel Green, Alabama and I graduated from Hazel Green High School with honors and played baseball for four years. After High School I attended Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University on an academic scholarship while also walking on and playing baseball there. During my time at A&M I was an Academic All-American and I graduated with honors (Cum Laude) with my Bachelors in Political Science with a concentration in Secondary Ed. General Social Sciences. For me, Government and Economics are two of the most important subjects a student can learn. My goal this year is to advance each students understanding of how government works and to better help them learn the importance as citizens to properly participate in their civic duties and know and understand their Constitutional Rights. I also will help students understand how economics is the driving force behind almost everything we do in our society. I want students to understand the basic functions and principles of economics and how different economic ideas structure everything we do in our market society.
