I am an English teacher, mother of two boys, ages 3 and 11, and a wife to an amazing Navy verteran, but most of all I am a follower and lover of Christ. I was raised in an Army family; therefore I traveled the world and experienced life through multiple lenses. Most of my secondary education was completed through private and public schools provided by the Department of Defense, and I went on to complete my Bachelor's in English at Alabama's very own University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

My love and passion for English and teaching led me to pursue my Masters in Education with a strong intrest in instructional writing and curriculum development. I completed my masters Cum Laude at the University of Montevallo, and started my very first teaching position with Homewood City Schools. From there I was recruited by the Department of Defense as an AP specialist working overseas for the DoD private schools in the Kingdom of Bharain. I worked for the Department of Defense for over seven years before my husband's Navy unit was transfered to San Diego, California.

My family of four lived in San Diego for five years, and in that time I completed my Administration Certification from San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!). Soon after, my husband completed his service with the Navy, so my family and I permanantly relocated to Alabama where we enjoy hiking, bike rides, and football. I am a teacher known for making rigourous work fun and enjoyable, and I pray overall  to be known for my acts of kindness and grace. I look forward to getting to know all of my parents, and students this year. Let's make it the best year ever! Go Lions!
