I am originally from Gadsden, Alabama and graduated from Gadsden City High School. I went on to the University of Alabama where I studied Archaeology, English, and Italian. After college I joined Teach for America and spent two years teaching in Central Alabama before moving back north to be closer to my family.
This will be my fifth year teaching. I have experience teaching Biology, Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, and ACT Test Prep.
I have a rescued American Bulldog named Archer at home and am constantly rescuing and fostering other critters that need my help!. This year in my classroom I will have my tarantula, Cranberry, my corn snake, Leroy Jenkins, a Red Footed Tortoise named Brick, and a fish tank.
In addition to teaching AP Biology, AP Prep Biology, and AP Environmental Science this year, I will also continue to sponsor Environmental Club! We had great success last year growing a group of great students with a passion for environmental stewardship and I can't wait to see how that trend continues this year!
I’m ready to have a great year at BJHS!
