Hello and welcome to seventh-grade Language Arts! My name is Maria White, and I am so excited to continue teaching with the Liberty Middle School team this year. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and am a proud graduate of the University of Alabama. I have previously worked as a teaching fellow for Breakthrough Collaborative in Birmingham and have taught eighth grade English and Honors English for Huntsville City Schools and here at Liberty. This year, I will serve as Competition Cheer coach and NJHS co-advisor while pursuing my master's in Learning, Design, and Technology at UWA. Outside of school, I love working out, going on long walks, and exploring all that Huntsville and Madison have to offer.

I believe that learning should be engaging, interactive, and relevant. I strive to create lessons that tap into students' curiosity, inspire them to think critically and work collaboratively to co-create knowledge. I look forward to working with your students this year to help them achieve their fullest potential. I can't wait to see what this year holds. Go Lions!
