Hello fellow music lovers! I am very excited to be your child’s music teacher! I love teaching music! In fact, I have been teaching music in Madison City Schools since 2006 and have had an amazing time doing so! The schools I am most commonly based out of are Heritage and West Madison elementary schools but I’ve had the priveldge to teach, in some capacity, at every elementary school in the district! I also teach private lessons in the community! I love to teach but I also love to learn! I continually study new aspects of music in order to add to what I teach! For example, ukulele is a new adventure we have started in fifth grade! Before teaching, I attended the University of Alabama Huntsville on music scholarship with concentrations in clarinet, voice & saxophone. Over the years I’ve enjoyed playing in wind ensembles, jazz bands, jazz combos, woodwind quintets, theater productions and singing in choirs!
More about me personally, I am married with two beautiful twin step-daughters. We have a a very sweet hyper-active dog named Milo and 2 parakeets named Brucie and Xander that are best buddies. In my spare time, I enjoy playing my instruments, attending concerts, going to the beach, going on walks, dancing, swimming, kayaking, shopping, volunteering, recycling, arts & crafts, hiking, hammocking, scrapbooking, riding horses, crossword puzzles, word games, and amusement parks!
