BIO

My name is Monica Creekmore.  I graduated from Berry College in 1991.  I have been teaching high school since 2012.  I am married and have four children.  I currently teach classes in the Culinary program at Bob Jones.  It is my goal to equip our students to be college and career ready with the skills they need to be successful both in college and in the workforce.  In my classes they have many opportunities to develop the much needed soft skills that employers desire their employees to have as well as skills they will need to be successful in college.

Experience

Since I have been teaching, I have taught a variety of Family and Consumer Sciences classes in both the Human Services and Hospitality and Tourism Pathways.  These classes include: FACS, Fashion, Fashion Design, Housing, Food and Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, Creative Arts, Child Development, Hospitality and Tourism, Culinary I and II, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Event Planning.

Before I started teaching high school I worked in industry for many years after college graduation.  I utilized my FACS degree in the areas of interior design and custom drapery making, fashion merchandising, merchandising management, and foodservice management.  My ultimate goal was to be a teacher, after having experience in the various fields of Family and Consumer Sciences.  My real world work experience brings an industry perspective to the classroom which allows me to share with my students what is expected of them in the workplace and helps to prepare them for work experiences both while in high school and after graduation.
