I am excited to begin my 26th year of teaching and my 12th year at Bob Jones High School!
A native of Fulton, Mississippi, I called Washington state home after college until my husband (a WA native) and I moved to Huntsville in 1995 with our oldest daughter. I spent the first 14 years of my teaching career as a gifted education teacher/specialist and have a desire to help ALL students learn and achieve at their level of ability. I also firmly believe in the power of creativity and nurturing the natural creative problem-solving ability that we ALL possess! In addition to integrating classroom activities that focus on creative thinking and teaching the first-ever Innovations class at Bob Jones, I am also the sponsor for Destination Imagination - the world's largest creative problem-solving program for students - at both BJHS and Discovery Middle School.
My husband is a software developer and we have four children, a son-in-law, a dog, and a cat. Between school, DI, and my children's activities, I do not have much free time, but when I do, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, working on my first book, and thrift store/yard sale shopping.
