Ms. Jenkins attended Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS where she received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with emphasis in Vocal/Choral Music PreK - 12 as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music & Vocal Performance

She holds additional certification in Orff, Level I from Samford University.

Experience

Ms. Jenkins has 22 years experience as music teacher in Alabama and Tennessee. She began her teaching career at Winfield City Schools where she spent eleven years as elementary music teacher and high school choral director. She also taught elementary music for Jackson-Madison County Schools in Jackson, Tennessee and Madison County Schools in Huntsville, Alabama before joining Madison City Schools as chorus teacher at Discovery and Liberty Middle Schools. After directing both choral programs for five years, Ms. Jenkins now serves as the chorus teacher for Discovery.

Biography

Ms. Jenkins is a native of Winfield, Alabama. She has been a resident of the Huntsville/Madison area for ten years. She enjoys performing at weddings, singing and playing with the church praise team, watching SEC football (Roll Tide!) and creating DIY/restoration projects. She has one adult son, Alex, who is active in musical theatre and travel.
