Bio

I grew up in Enterprise, AL and earned a bachelor's degree in Nursing from Troy University.  I worked in Labor and Delivery at numerous hospitals while my husband served in the US Army. I love taking care of women and families during such a special time in their lives.  I transitioned to working in doctor's offices, again mostly in women's health, but also have experience in Internal Medicine and Oncology. I received my master's degree in nursing from University of Alabama Huntsville, and continued working in women's health as a Nurse Practitioner.

I have teaching experience both at the college level as well as community education.  I taught nursing at Southern Union Community College in Valley, AL. I am also a certified Lamaze instructor, CPR instructor, and have always been active wherever we have lived with community education related to healthcare.

I am married with three children, and now reside in Decatur, AL.  I am very excited to be part of the Medical Academy at James Clemens.  I am also a co-advisor for HOSA - Future Health Professionals and National Technical Honor Society. It is an honor and privilege to expose our teenagers to all the possible careers in healthcare, and help give them life experiences to cement their choices.
