Mrs. Bonnie Walker
I am originally from Scottsboro, AL, but I have also lived in Tuscaloosa (Roll Tide!!!), Northport, and Huntsville. My husband, Steve, myself, and our two daughters, Ava and Mia, are residents of Madison, and both my daughters attend Madison City Schools. I'm excited to be teaching where my daughter, Ava, goes to school. This will be my second year at Liberty. We have a spoiled cat named Baxter and a silly but sweet golden doodle puppy named Teddy. I enjoy spending time at home with my family, hanging out with my close friends, reading, watching movies and Netflix, and going to concerts and music festivals to see my favorite bands.
Not only is this my second year at Liberty, but this is also the second year of my teaching career after having worked 12 years in auditing and accounting and almost two years in real estate. I love that I am finally pursuing my passion to help and mentor kids through teaching and education. Last year, I taught Creative Writing I and II, Intro to Public Speaking, Digital Publishing Tools, and Career Prep - talk about an intense and busy first year! However, I learned so much in the process. Most importantly, I learned that I love this school and all the awesome people who work here, and I fell in love with the amazing kids who attend LMS and the relationships that I built with them throughout the school year. I can truly say that this is where I'm meant to be and teaching is what I'm meant to be doing. My main focus is ELA, so I'm thrilled that this year I will be teaching 6th grade ELA as well as Creative Writing - which I absolutely loved teaching last year - and Intro to Public Speaking. I am so excited to start this new school year and meet my new students!
