ACAP - Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program
The ACAP Summative assessment will be administered to grades 2-8, once a year, in the spring, beginning in 2020. The assessment will be administered 100% online, with the exception of a documented need for paper assessments (IEP, 504 plan, or I-ELP). The content areas to be assessed are math and English/language arts, to include a writing section. In addition, grades 4,6, and 8 will be administed an assessment in science.
STAR Assessments
STAR Early Literacy is a customized reading assessment for students in grade pre-K through 3 (beginning readers who do not yet read independently or need early literacy skills). Teachers use STAR Early Literacy reports to determine the reading level of each student and to measure growth.
STAR Reading is a customized reading assessment given to students in grades 1 through 5 (also for students in kindergarten who have basic reading skills). Teachers use STAR Reading reports to determine the reading level of each student and to measure growth.
STAR Math is a customized math assessment given to students in grades 1 through 5. Teachers use reports from STAR Math to determine students' math skill levels and measure progress.
DIBELS - Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills
DIBELS is administered to students in grades K through 3 to assess the acquisiton of early literacy skills.
