Hello, Jaguars! My name is Maria White, and I am so excited to learn with you in the 2023-2024 school year. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and am a proud graduate of the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and the University of West Alabama, where I recently completed my master's in Learning, Design, and Technology. I have previously worked as a teaching fellow for Breakthrough Collaborative in Birmingham and taught seventh and eighth-grade English and Honors English in Huntsville and at Liberty Middle School. This year, I will serve as Competition Cheer coach, and I look forward to learning and growing with my students and athletes. Outside of school, I love going on long walks, attending theatre productions, and exploring all that Huntsville and Madison have to offer. 

I believe that learning should be engaging, interactive, and relevant. I strive to create lessons that tap into students' curiosity, inspire them to think critically, and collaborate to co-create knowledge. I believe in the power of learning beside students and working together to achieve our greatest potential. I can't wait to meet your students and create magic this school year. Go, Jags!
