Mrs. Cristina Nicastro

My name is Cristina Nicastro and I am from Lake Tahoe California. I attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah my first years of college on a music performance scholarship playing the oboe. After some time in college I decided to change my degree to Middle School Math (Education). I graduated from Saint Leo's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education focused in math. My first job teaching was at Daytona State University where I worked with college students attending college math courses which consisted of college algebra, trionometry, and pre-calculus. I continued to teach in the public schools in Palm Coast Florida for 9 years after. I have worked with many different age levels between 6th grade through 12th grade. I have also had the priviledge to be the girls basketball coach at Indian Trails Middle School for the last couple of years. I am very proud to have joined the math team at Bob Jones High School. I wanted to become a teacher because I enjoy serving others and being apart of something positive.  Teaching is so rewarding and gives me a sense that I am making the world a better place one student at a time. My teaching philosophy is very simple students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I show my caring by forming relationships with my students and trying to help them find their dreams and strengths so they can believe in themselves the way I believe in them. Either way they are the future and have unlimited value.
