• Improvisation

A class to learn and practice the basics of improv -- and to refine all the classic onstage skills you need for performance. The students finish off the one-term class with a Devised Theatre performance.

  • Final Performance

The second term improv classes will soon begin work on their end-of-term performance to show off all they've learned and created in class.

These are devised theatre performances, which means that the students begin with no script -- only a concept. The students then work together over time to develop skits, pantomimes, dances, songs, and more as part of their concept. This development will occur through repeated improvisations of the scenes, with changes being tested each time until the final presentations are solidified. Many famous plays were created with the same methodology, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling BeeShakespeare Abridged, and The Boys in the Band

The date for this REQUIRED after-school performance will soon be finalized. Can't wait to see you there!
