First Term Final Performance
The first term improv classes will soon be having their end-of-term performance to show off all they've learned and been working on.
These are devised theatre performances, which means that the students began with no script -- only a concept. The students then worked together over time to develop skits, pantomimes, dances, songs, and more as part of their concept. This development occured through repeated improvisations of the scenes, with changes being tested each time until the final presentations you see before you were solidified. Many famous plays were created with the same methodology, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Shakespeare Abridged, and The Boys in the Band.
If you want to see what our DMS students came up with through improvisation, collaboation, and a lot of work, please join us in the library on September 30th. D Block performs at 5:00, B Block at 6:30.
