I am very excited to be a Journey Jaguar this year! I attended Radford University in Radford, Virginia, earning my bachelor's degree in elementary education. I went on to earn a master's degree in elementary education from the University of South Florida and later earned another master's degree in English from Western New Mexico University. I am certified to teach English in grades 6 - 12.  

I am entering my 23rd year of teaching, and this is my third year in Madison City Schools. I have taught 3rd - 8th grades in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. 

I was born in Silver Springs, Maryland, but spent most of my childhood in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. My husband and I have been married for 23 years. We have two children, Samantha and Daniel. We also have two dogs and two cats, all rescue animals. Outside of school I enjoy reading, movie nights with my family, and traveling.
