Mrs. Megan Dean

My name is Megan Dean, and I will be starting my 7th year of teaching this year.   My family and I relocated to Madison last summer from Warner Robins, Georgia where I was teaching 11th grade American Literature.   Unlike most people in this area, I am an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan since I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.  So, I guess you would call me a typical "Georgia Peach." I graduated from Southeastern University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education.  I taught for two years right out of college at Lakeland Senior High School, but then decided to take a break from teaching to focus on my family.  However, four years ago, I felt a very strong pull to get back to teaching so I could share my love of literature and learning with others.  It was the best decision I have ever made! I have an intense passion for learning and helping students to unlock their potential.  I am confident that my recent high school teaching experience will allow me to equip my 7th grade students with both academic and social strategies to be successful in their future school career.

I am looking forward to an amazing year together!
