Current Students Must Re-enroll Before End of June or Face Withdrawal

Summer is here and school is probably the last thing on your mind. However, it is very important to know that you must re-enroll your child even if he or she attended Madison City Schools this past school year.
Once you have finished online enrollment, your child(ren) will be all set to begin on August 7. Access Registration Page here

Re-enrollment is REQUIRED for every student returning to Madison City Schools next year.  It only takes a few minutes. The deadline is June 29. However, complete it early and be done with it. Failure to re-enroll will result in your child being withdrawn.

We cannot overemphasize the importance of re-enrollment. (This is not to be confused with the registration for course requests at the high schools or middle schools.)
Re-enrolling gives us an accurate student count to aid us in staffing and mapping out efficient bus routes.
It also ensures that your child is in the proper school zone and that our contact information is up-to-date. In a system with nearly 11,000 students, things change: i.e. address, custody, emergency contacts. Annual re-enrollments are required by most school systems, so we are not alone in this
Re-enrollment also helps root out false claims of residency to attend Madison schools, which happens more than you probably thought.  

A couple of years ago, we moved to an online-only registration of new students and re-enrollment of existing students, replacing the old system of registering at our Central Office. Online enrollment is more efficient and is available on a 24-hour basis with no wait in line. There are also links to upload documents such as your proof of residency or utility bill.

Here are some helpful tips to guide you through the process.

* If you are unsure of your school zone, use the address lookup to find the school your child will attend.

* Notifications: Once you have successfully uploaded and filled out the required fields and submitted your re-enrollment, you will receive an e-mail confirmation acknowledging receipt. Then a “verified” notification will be sent as soon as staff has reviewed your documents and verified your file.
