Madison City Schools Preps New Hires In Teacher Orientation Day

Posted by John Peck in General

Monday was a day of orientation for teachers new to the Madison City Schools System

Superintendent Robby Parker and Assistant Superintendent Eric Terrell welcomed the group and shared with them some of the district's expectations.

Mr. Parker introduced principals of the schools and Central Office staff.

Several of the district directors and coordinators briefed newcomers on topics such as special education, accounting guidelines, personnel, transportation, student services, federal programs and more.

The group also heard presentations from the Free2Teach teacher supplies organization and Alabama Education Association before branching out to their respective schools for preparations.

Students return to schools next Monday, Aug. 7.

The 2017-18 school year is shaping up to be an outstanding one.
