James Clemens Celebrates Outdoor Classroom Certification

James Clemens High School celebrated its certification May 12 as an official Outdoor Classroom School. Friday’s ceremony capped months of work involving dozens of teachers, volunteers, parents, students and sponsors with lots of donated material and labor. “It’s not over yet,” said Principal Dr. Brian Clayton of the pledge to continuously modify, add to and maintain the outdoor classroom for future years.The celebration sanctions the Outdoor Classroom School...

Liberty Middle Basketball Team Gets Lesson in Playing Game From Wheelchairs

Liberty Middle School held a scrimmage game between the boys basketball team and a wheelchair team.The catch?The regular team had to play in wheelchairs also.The scrimmage was at the suggestion of Evan Lott, a 7th grade Liberty Middle student who plays on a youth wheelchair basketball team that made it into the national championships this year.  Raise a checkered flag to Greenpower Racing in Madison City Schools.James Clemens and Bob Jones Greenpower Racing teams racked up an impressive performance at a national Greenpower Student Electric Car Challenge last week at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
