Madison City Schools Kick off April As Autism Awareness Month

If you see a lot of blue in Madison schools  this month, it's not by coincidence.Blue is the theme color for Autism Awareness. April is Autism Awareness month. Outdoor Classroom Project Nearing Completion at James Clemens

Students, faculty and volunteers waged a marathon day of work at James Clemens High School preparing the school's outdoor classroom. Thursday's work was done under the watchful eye of the Alabama Wildlife Federation, which sanctions and certifies Outdoor Classrooms statewide. Madison City Students Emerge Like Kings in State Chess Tournament

Madison City chess students were honored by the Board of Education for their stellar performance in the 2017 Scholastic Chess Championship, hosted by Bob Jones High School earlier this month. ADTRAN Donates to Madison City Greenpower Program

Greenpower racing teams in Madison City Schools continue to seek donations in their quest to compete in a greenpower competition at the Indy 500.On Tuesday, March 7,  ADTRAN dropped a $2,000 check off at Bob Jones for the Patriot Racing Team. PTA Reflections WInners Reflect Lots of Student Talent in Madison City Schools

Bob Jones Swim Coach Gunner Named National Coach of Year

James Clemens Celebrates 100th School Day Honoring 100 Students

James Clemens High School celebrated the 100th day of school on Tuesday, Jan. 24, by celebrating students deserving of special recognition. National NICHE Education Study Gives Madison City Schools Top Grades

The national website NICHE released its 2017 Best Schools in America list and Madison City Schools ranked third out of 135 school districts in Alabama, scoring an overall A+. All seven elementary schools in Madison placed in the top 25 in individual school rankings. Heritage Gifts to Needy School Continue Madison City's Culture of Giving

When most students rushed  home last Friday to start their winter break, students from a Madison City elementary school made a trek to deliver presents to an impoverished school in Huntsville. The givers were fifth graders at Heritage Elementary lead by teacher Anthony Graham. Family Gives Special Ed Gifts To Madison In Memory of Special Son

Madison City Schools received a generous gift for its special education program this week in memory of one of its former students. Jeff and Teri Kirby played the role of Santa Claus, delivering a truck-full of sensory-activity items to the Developmentally Delayed program at Liberty Middle School.Their son, Adam Kerby, passed away a couple of years ago from complications related to his disability. “Today would have been Adam’s 18th birthday,” Jeff Kirby said to a round of applause...

Madison City Schools Honors Veterans For their Service and Sacrifices

Veterans tributes continued in Madison City Schools today with schoolwide assemblies at Liberty and Discovery middle schools and a program at Mill Creek Elementary.The honors come as America prepares to observe Veterans Day Nov. 11. LaBryan Ray of James Clemens HS Named Under Armour All American FB Player

Coveted Medical Leaders Honor Awarded JCHS Students
