Current Programs:

  1. HIPPY - Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is a parent involvement, school readiness program that helps parents prepare their three, four, and five year old children for success in school and beyond.
  2. First Class:  Alabama's Voluntary Pre-K Grant Program - Madison City School System has been awarded nine grants for Pre K classes for four year old children. This state funded pre-k program grant, First Class, is administered through the Alabama Department of Children's Affairs Office of School Readiness.
  3. DoDEA - Madison City Schools serves 2,423 military students out of an 10,604 total enrollment (1,280 out of 5,348 secondary students), and meeting their myriad needs requires a multi-faceted approach. That number is rising significantly as families transfer to the Redstone Arsenal due to the BRAC re-alignment plan. This grant provides support and resources to military connected families and other at-risk students.
